On the 14th of November, 2024, we’ll be running a murder mystery that we wrote ourselves in a coffee shop in Dalry.
There’s been a murder. In a coffee shop (which definitely isn’t haunted in any way).
Due to extensive budget cuts, there are no detectives available to investigate this particular crime, and so instead we’re rounded up the coffee shop regulars (you!) and tasked them with finding out who did it, why they did it, and how they did it…
You’ll need to check the scene for clues, examine crucial documents, and work together with your fellow regulars to decide which of you is the guilty party.
This murder mystery will last around ninety minutes, and is a conversation-based game with a few puzzles and escape-room elements.
You’ll be given a character who you’ll play as during the game. Each character has their own secrets, objectives and information… and it’s up to you to decide what you share with the group.
At the end of the game everyone can take their own guess as to the identity of the murderer, the method, and the motive. After the solution is revealed, you’re welcome to stick around for a drink.
